Tour by Patrick Farley of Watershed Architects
Located in the heart of Richmond’s Fan district, 1417 Grove Avenue is a phoenix rising from the burned-out shell of a 1920’s row house. On track for LEED Platinum certification, its reconstruction celebrates the form and character of the original structure while integrating high performance, healthful building practices. Low energy design is achieved through investment in renewable energy technology and water harvesting while occupant health and well being are enhanced through use of non-toxic finishes and biophilic systems: an interior living wall and a roof garden.
